I’ve been reading a book by Richard Blackaby called “The Seasons of God.” The basis is rooted in the verse in Ecclesiastes, also a popular song by The Byrd’s:
The author shares that it is God’s design that seasons are the basis of all things through life. Our entire lives are not defined from Spring (birth) to Winter (death) but rather we experience every season over and over again throughout our life. It’s not the fact we experience them, it’s about HOW we go through them. Spring is a beautiful time of rebirth, newness. It could be a new job, new relationship, new home. Summer is a time when we work and continue to grow so we can harvest what awaits us (our dreams, our goals) in Autumn. The winters of our life will inevitably come, but how we prepare ourselves in a time of hard work in summer and harvest in Autumn will help us get through the winters in peace.
Where is your peace today as we go through this unprecedented time of quarantine? In your family? Home? Health? Faith? I find peace in all of those things and the joy of knowing that spring always follows winter…
