It’s OK to Celebrate

Do you stop rooting for your favorite sports team just because they’re losing? Of course not.

I am grateful for our country, the great experiment, the freedoms we have compared to so many other countries. The independence fought for over and over again. One nation under God, where immigrants flocked to including my great-grandfathers for a better life for their families and generations to come.

Celebrate America not for the season of bad leadership and bad decisions we are in now, for this too shall pass.

Celebrate for the small and immigrant, minority owned business owners, celebrate for the families who escaped tyranny and communism to thrive here.

Celebrate for the ability to speak our minds, protest, worship and live free.

Celebrate for the men and women who fought bravely and died for our freedom.

Celebrate for optimism and hope of a bright future knowing the American spirit of ingenuity, resilience, strength, perseverance and commitment to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness will win out.

Loving your country doesn’t mean you have to like everything about it. The same way you can love a family member but not always agree or like everything they do.

Focus on the positive and there’s a lot to be positive about – if you can see the bigger picture.

And to quote Lee Greenwood, “There ain’t no doubt I love this land, God Bless the USA.”

Have a safe and Happy 4th of July!
